What’s scary about dating someone beautiful and smart? It is being beaten up in a way that you did not know he or she had it in her. There is one anime that comes to mind, and it was just released this month, titled May I Ask One Final Thing.
This anime tells the story of Scarlet El Vandimion, who has been putting up with her fiancé’s bullying. During an engagement party, her fiancé wanted to break up their relationship and wanted to get rid of her permanently. Usually, this type of setting is really cliché to be seen as condemning a villainess. However, in this anime, not only is Scarlet not being bullied at all, but she unleashes a fury that she has held since her childhood. Beating everyone wronging her at the party, including the idiotic prince who never knew how dangerous she could be, as she was once labeled as the Mad Dog Noblewoman.

The 1st episode of this anime gives us a brief introduction to what this anime will have in the coming week, and truly, gives a perfect flashback on how multifaceted Scarlet is, as she is not only talented in her studies and her magic abilities, but also has endured countless years of bullying, only to explode once the opportunity was given. The vibes I am getting just by watching the 1st episode were really something, and we can see how bloody good it is literally. Letting loose is one way to vent years of bullying, and beating up villains is the best way to go.
Continuing what happened during the engagement party, the 2nd episode did not fail to meet my expectations, as we can see many comedic parts as Scarlet has shown no restraint when dealing with scum. Funny thing about it is that she gets teased a lot by the 1st prince, Julius Von Pallistan, who is also engaged to her. His character was also shown in the 1st episode as someone who feels bored, only to realize that he has found someone who piqued his curiosity, and that is Scarlet. Trying to see what other emotions she is holding, he tries his best to tease and manages to see the results during the aftermath of the engagement party. Prince Julius is really a cunning character, and seeing him perform in the anime was quite funny to watch. And I believe a little misdirection splashed with some romance should give some color to this anime.

I have personally read the manga version of this anime, and so far, they have really shown details that were important, including the cast of characters like the brother of Scarlet, the academy, and other notable characters who will play an important role in the series. All of these characters are good, but we shouldn’t just focus on them. Another notable thing to watch over the series is the opening song of the anime.
The opening song is called SENJO NO HANA, and it was made by Chico with HoneyWorks. This popular band debuted in August 2014 and has come up with many popular songs for anime openings and endings. Examples are Ao Haru Ride, Gintama, Naruto, and notably, Koi Wa Ameagari no You ni. This new song they made was a perfect choice to use as it really shows how a beautiful rose can be deadly in a battlefield, and in this anime, a blood rose fist fight is one thing to expect out of nowhere. When hearing the intro, I feel like I’m out of place, which makes me want to let loose in a good wa,y and I want to download the song on my phone to listen to it and perhaps sing it as well.

Would I recommend this anime to others? Personally, I would recommend this anime, as it’s something you don’t see every day, and if you want some laughter, this anime is the perfect thing to watch this season. Filled with some unexpected reactions and humorous moments, I would recommend, quite frankly, that viewers read the manga version and see what their reactions are to this series in both forms of entertainment.
