Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Development: Is the Original Creator Involved?

Is Kojima or Shinkawa involved in this remake? Konami tells the truth.

Konami has recently shared some details that will clarify the involvement with one of the original creators for the upcoming video game remake Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Is Kojima Involved in the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Development?

IGN recently interviewed the Konami team behind the development of the upcoming remake Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater talking about details that they could share. It was obvious that they could not reveal everything about the game yet, but they clarified some info so they could put it aside and move on. One of those was the involvement of Hideo Kojima or Yoji Shinkawa.

A Konami spokesperson flatly denied Kojima’s or Shinkawa’s involvement claims. “However, the development team will work hard to create this remake and also the ports (for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection) so that they can be enjoyed on multiple platforms by even more players all around the world.”

Those Truly Involved

Just like what was reported before, Konami will work with studio Virtuos who were involved in producing previous entries in the Metal Gear series. It was also revealed that the guys from Konami that will be directly involved in development are the ones who were in the production of the previous Metal Gear series.

Reasons for Choosing MGS 3

IGN asked Konami why they chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater over other titles in the franchise. “We chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because it depicts the birth of BIG BOSS (Naked Snake), which is the starting point of the Metal Gear series,” a Konami spokesperson said. “Another reason is that many fans have been requesting a remake of this game for a long time.”

Hint of Future Remakes

When asked if other titles will be remade in the future, Konami was not that specific in its answer, but it was willing to listen to the player’s demands.

The Reason for the Delta Symbol

Lastly, Konami explained the reason for choosing the Delta symbol for the remake. It was revealed that the symbol is a character from the Greek alphabet and it meant change or difference. It also meant “changing an amount without changing the structure”, which fits perfectly.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater still has no release window but it will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
