Game company CAPCOM has recently revealed the post-launch roadmap of upcoming video game Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
Ahead of its release, the post-launch roadmap of the upcoming video game was discussed by Series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Director Kenji Oguro. They also showcased co-op gameplay, a new story trailer, and more.
The post-launch roadmap offers a challenging and rewarding end-game content that awaits the Monster Riders after it is released on July 9 on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Today’s special program also mentioned the first post-launch update that will add the fan-favorite Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise as a ridable Monstie on July 15.
The program showcased the five additional free updates that will be coming to the game until October 2021. Title Update 2 will be released on August 5 and will introduce the gilded Elder Dragon Kulve Taroth as a new co-op quest. She will not be available as a ridable Monstie, but the materials from her quest will be useful for crafting powerful equipment. This update will add the Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos as additional Monsties.
Title Update 3 will be released in early September 2021 and will bring the Soulseer Mizutsune, Elderfrost Gammoth, and Oroshi Kirin as new Monsties. In late September, Title Update 4 will bring in new Monsties Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigrex. Kulve Taroth will be in a new high-difficulty co-op quest that will offer Monster Riders a chance to get bigger rewards. By October 2021, Title Update 5 will add in Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian. There is also a mysterious monster, who will be part of the highly difficulty co-op quest that will offer materials that can be used to craft powerful equipment.
The co-op gameplay reveal had Tsujimoto and Oguro discuss the many ways that players can collaborate in co-op expeditions, including exploration, strategizing on combat, discovering Monster Dens, selecting eggs, and hatching new and unique Monsties. A behind-the scenes looks was also revealed sharing details of the first Monster Hunter Stories and what they set out to accomplish with the sequel.
A free Trial Version is now available on Nintendo Switch. A free Trial Version on PC will be released on July 9, 2021 together with the launch of the full version of the game. Both Trial Versions will allow save data transfer to the full game. Nintendo Switch players will be able to get the Kinship Talisman if they have the MHS2 save data of the free trial for Monster Hunter Rise.
