Monster Hunter World PC Delay Explained!

The PC platform will be getting its first Monster Hunter title in decades, and the producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, wants to make sure the experience on the platform will be as smooth as its console counterpart. He clarifies why there’s a delay for the PC version.

The producer explained to GamesRadar (reported by PCGamer) that it takes additional work for the PC to run properly especially its matchmaking system.

For the main Monster Hunter game, this is our first PC title and it’s something we want to make sure we get right. So rather than have it taking up resources during the console development and not it not being able to have our full attention on it. We want to get console out the door and then we’re going to take some extra time and try and get the PC version as good as possible.

There’s extra work you need for PC as well. On console you use first party matchmaking, you just kind of plug into it, whether it’s PSN or Xbox Live, but on PC we’re going to have to work more to get our own matchmaking working. So, hopefully, PC users won’t mind waiting a little bit longer for us to bring you a really great optimised PC experience.[/alert]

Tsujimoto-san wants the PC version to have no problems on launch. With how diverse the PC platform is, it’s great to know that Tsujimoto-san and his studio are doing their best to give a flawless first Monster Hunter experience on PC.

Monster Hunter World is expected to launch in Fall/Autumn 2018 on PC, while the PS4 and Xbox One versions will come out this January 26.
