Mortal Kombat 1 Exec Teases New Guest Character Coming to Game

There is a high chance Ghostface will be the one chosen by Ed Boon.

Series Co-Creator and Mortal Kombat 1 Creative Director Ed Boon posted a new artwork, teasing a future guest character coming to the game.

Boon recently posted on his official Twitter account an artwork image that featured a series of horror movie slasher villains. Each portrait had ticks and question marks drawn over them, which has meaning for each.

The villains that have ticks on them include Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and Jason Voorhees. These guys have already appeared in previous Mortal Kombat games as DLC fighters with the recent one being Leatherface.

On the opposite side are the villains with question marks on them like Ghostface, Pinhead, Michael Myers, Chucky, and Billy the Puppet from Saw. These guys have not appeared yet in the series.

Boon is teasing one of these characters that will become the next guest DLC fighter joining Mortal Kombat 1. NetherRealms recently seems to like adding horror movie villains into their Mortal Kombat games and this lineup is the possibilities.

In a previous report, a modder datamined Mortal Kombat 1 and revealed unannounced characters and it included Ghostface. Note that the artwork featured Ghostface from the horror slasher movie series Scream. This could be a vital clue, but it is still up to Boon which villain he will choose.

Mortal Kombat 1 is out now on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
