A new report claims that Mortal Kombat 2 film is finally going to get its actor that will portray Johnny Cage, a mainstay character in the Mortal Kombat universe.
According to The Wrap, the publication claims that Karl Urban, the star of The Boys, is going to portray the self-proclaimed Hollywood star Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2, which is still underway at New Line Cinema. He is currently known for his role as Billy Butcher in The Boys series, but he has been in many famous films as well like Skurge the Executioner in Thor Ragnarok, Leonard McCoy in Star Trek movies, and Éomer in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
2021’s Mortal Kombat was a resounding success and exceeded the expectations of Warner Bros. by generating $22.5 million in its first weekend in the US. It is one of the best video game adaptations in the new generation, finally getting the same success as the original Mortal Kombat movie. At the post-credits of the movie, Johnny Cage was teased to make an appearance.
No word yet when Mortal Kombat 2 film will be in theaters.
