Game company Nintendo recently told a gaming publication that it is currently investigating several reports of Switch console owners seemingly getting their accounts illegally accessed.
Nintendo accounts might be compromised
Several reports from Switch owners reveal that their accounts have been accessed by someone else without their knowledge. Some of the accounts were used to purchase digital items from some games with the PayPal accounts linked to them.
The game company responded to Eurogamer and gave an official statement.
We are aware of reports of unauthorised access to some Nintendo Accounts and we are investigating the situation.
The spokesperson then advised the account users to enable the two-step verification method to protect them. If they find that there are some unauthorized activities in their accounts, they suggest to taking steps that were outlined in the support page.
