    PlayStation Showcase Possibly Happening Soon

A new rumor claims that a new PlayStation Showcase could be happening soon.

After the big State of Play event last June 2022, Sony Interactive Entertainment has gone silent and has not made any announcement. God of War Ragnarok’s release date was revealed, but no gameplay footage was shared so it is about time that they would reveal one. Now a rumor has appeared online claiming that there will be no State of Play event in the future but instead a PlayStation Showcase.

The difference between the State of Play and PlayStation Showcase is their length. State of Play events are shorter, smaller shows like Nintendo Direct ones. PlayStation Showcase, on the other hand, are shows that are comparable to the ones at E3. These shows are usually held in September 20222, but Nick Baker, the Xbox Era founder (ironically), claims that SIE will be hosting a PlayStation Showcase this month instead. His source said that the current plan will be this month, but they also said they are not sure if it will be moved to another month.

So because *I’ve* been getting asked, I asked if Sony had a show planned for September and got told that at the moment the plan is for a show in August. But just to make sure those that want to be pissed at me will be, “not sure if it will be moved” was also part of the reply!

With The Last of Us Part 1 to be released on September 2, 2022, it does make sense that the alleged PlayStation Showcase will be held this month instead. SIE and Santa Monica Studio also needs to share a preview of gameplay at least for the upcoming God of War Ragnarok so it would be the perfect event to reveal it to the gaming community.

These claims have not been confirmed by SIE so take these with a grain of salt for now.
