Celebrating 30 years of the Pokémon series, the developers of Game Freak have announced their next Pokémon game to be released for the Nintendo Switch 2. Featuring the next generation of Pokémon, Pokémon Wind and Waves has officially been revealed.

The new Pokémon Presents revealed an exciting trailer for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, upcoming entries in the Pokémon video game series. Developed by GAME FREAK exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, these new titles feature an open world to explore, with beautiful, windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves. The Pokémon that live in harmony with this region’s lush environment have developed their own unique ecosystems. During this adventure, you’ll team up with all kinds of Pokémon to overcome both the difficult road ahead and even the forces of nature that block your path at times.

The main character will sport a different outfit depending on which version of the game you play—and of course, you’ll set out with one of three first partner Pokémon. The 3 new starter Pokémon present in the game are the following:

    • Pombon
      • A fire-type Pokémon who loves to heat things and who is guileless and friendly!
    • Gecqua
      • A water-type Pokémon that is an intelligent Water Gecko and loves to search for mysteries.
    • Browt
      • A grass-type Pokémon that is a Bean Chick Pokémon, which is very lively but clumsy.

Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will officially be supported in both Brazilian and Portuguese as languages players can choose. Now, even more fans around the world will be able to play this new adventure in their native language!

    Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu

Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will officially be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 globally in 2027. More news about the game will be revealed on their main website.
