Rockstar Games has now made it official that they will now stop releasing more major updates to Red Dead Online.
The reason for ending the support was to focus all of their development resources to an upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto 6. And just as expected, fans of Red Dead Online were furious of the decision. Worst of it all is the fact that it seems the multiplayer feature had been overlooked for a while now and had been make more progress with GTA Online.
It does not mean that Rockstar Games will totally abandon Red Dead Online though. They have now laid out a plan on how to keep the multiplayer mode afloat.
“Over the past few years, we have been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series – understanding more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can possibly be,” Rockstar wrote, “and as a result, we are in the process of making some changes to how we support Red Dead Online.”
No more major updates for the game mode, but instead it will now just highlight some existing content, season special events, and experience improvements. There will be some Telegram Missions too.
Red Dead Online is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
