Red Dead Redemption Gets Ported to PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Marston comes back to modern consoles, but it's not what you think it is.

Rockstar Games officially announced that Red Dead Redemption is coming to Nintendo Switch and modern PlayStation consoles.

Red Dead Redemption Coming to Modern Consoles

According to the latest Twitter post of Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption and the zombie DLC add-on Undead Nightmare are coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch on August 17, 2023. This was Rockstar’s best game in 2010, which only launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 and now is being ported to PS4 and switch by UK developer Double Eleven Studios, with PS5 backwards compatibility supported.

Not a Remake or Remaster

It has been clarified that the port is not a remaster or a remake. This is a conversion for modern platforms, according to Rockstar Games. The new version will include newly supported languages like Simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish. Its price is $49.99 on Nintendo Switch eShop and PlayStation Store. A physical version will be launching on October 13, 2023.

No PC

It is interesting to note that there is no mention of PC or Xbox versions from the announcement. The original Xbox 360 is already available via backwards compatibility, but the lack of PC version would definitely disappoint some fans. It is already a disappointment that it is not a remaster at least, unfortunately.
