It has been confirmed by CAPCOM that Resident Evil 4 Remake will not feature the elusive and enigmatic enemy called the Hook Man in this version of the game.
The original Resident Evil 4 had various memorable content like quick time events, crazy monsters, and challenges that made the game quite an icon in the game series. Many fans were happy that the remake was going to incorporate all of the best features that the original had and do away with the annoying ones that might get issues. However, not everything that fans are hoping for will make it into the new version.
Director Yasuhiro Anpo and Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi recently spoke with Game Informer in a recent interview who were asked a series of rapid-fire questions about the upcoming remake. One of the questions that were asked to these two execs was about the appearance of the elusive Hook Man. It was confirmed right away that this fan-requested enemy will not be in. Both did not share an explanation for not adding this enemy in the remake. They did say that Hook Man was considered for the 2005 release and at that time of development was called Hallucination Biohazard.
Hook Man was actually an enemy that was considered to be added to the original game, but did not make the cut. A 2003 demo featured this creepy enemy showing it coming out from paintings and attacking Leon Kennedy.
With this confirmation, there is no more chance for Hook Man to appear in the remake.
Resident Evil 4 Remake launches on March 24, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
