2016 is an interesting year for shooters and action-adventure games. EA’s massive Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 released in the same month of October, and followed by Infinity Ward’s Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Blizzard launched an exciting and exhilarating hero team-based first-person shooter, Overwatch. We also have release of Final Fantasy Versus XIII that became a mainline Final Fantasy installment — Final Fantasy XV.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studios and genDESIGN launched the long-awaited puzzle adventure and the successor of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian. Naughty Dog’s final climatic chapter of Nathan Drake’s adventures in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End that scored the highest in Metacritic — parking at an average score of 93.
Now, the question lies: what title is considered to be Game of the Year? It’s a game that touched the majority of gamers across the world, the one that delivers absolute greatness in all aspect, compelling narrative, engaging gameplay experiences, and can still live in many years to come.
Recently in The Game Awards 2016, an annual awarding ceremony every December which is much like the Oscars Awards for films, Overwatch took the title of Game of the Year. And this was voted by the people within the publications that submitted their ballots for nominees. For the Golden Joystick Awards, also known as the People’s Gaming Awards, Dark Souls III won the “Ultimate Game of the Year” award, and the votes were done by the public audience.
Here on Sirus Gaming, we are going to have a poll for our audience to pick their Game of the Year of 2016. This is to make sure that the gaming community’s votes are recognized and that the winner is chosen by the majority of people in the gaming industry.
