SEGA has recently posted a warning for Sonic Frontiers players regarding DLC.
In a new post on Twitter, SEGA has warned players not to play the main game and must do these small steps first. Players who have purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game must install the DLCs first before starting the new game or else the included DLC items will not activate in the game, which would be a bummer.
Players who install the add-ons AFTER leaving the tutorial area will not see their DLC items in the game. They must also install the recent patch before applying the DLC.
SEGA said in a follow-up post that the instructions mentioned in the original tweet only applied to the Digital Deluxe Edition. Future DLC like Sonic Adventure 2 shoes and Monster Hunter DLC will not have these issues. Just uninstall the game and start from the beginning to make this work.
The Digital Deluxe Edition will include the Explorer’s Treasure Box:
- Amy’s Memory Tokens
- A Portal Gear
- Chaos Emerald Vault Keys
- Additional Gloves and Shoes for Sonic
There is also the Digital Art Book and Digital Mini Soundtrack that contains 25 tracks.
Sonic Frontiers is out now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
