Sony’s DualShock 4 Controller’s New Look with Added Buttons

With the upcoming PlayStation VR this October, plus the upcoming titles revealed during E3, and with a new generation console – PlayStation 4.5 on the way, consumers want to know what’s next for Sony. Sony is very competitive, and we are pretty sure that Sony still has a lot up their sleeves, and is not about to let another company get ahead of them in this ever changing industry. With this in mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Sony would patent a new DualShock 4 controller.

A NeoGAF user by the name of Kyoufu leaked a blueprint for the new controller. Considering the recent release of the Xbox One’s Elite Controller which has four new buttons, an altered directional pad, and some various customizable settings, the newly patented DualShock 4 controller has two new buttons, both on the grips of the controller, not unlike the four new buttons on the Elite. What are likely to remain the Start and Share buttons have been moved to new spots below the d-pad on the left and the primary buttons on the right. Check out the image below:

Whether or not this controller is actualized, one can admit that it has some nice additions that could change how video game devs program games for the PlayStation 4. On a side note, this looks way better and more functional than the leaked Nindtendo NX controller. Still, this controller has not yet been announced or shown off by Sony themselves.
