Lucasfilm Games has officially revealed Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a new high-speed racing title set in the Star Wars universe, launching in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The game introduces players to the Galactic League, an underground and unsanctioned racing circuit operating on the fringes of the galaxy. Set largely in the lawless Outer Rim, Galactic Racer centers on dangerous repulsorcraft races where pilots compete for fame, survival, and dominance across a variety of hostile environments.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is built around a runs-based structure, with each race featuring branching paths, unpredictable encounters, and escalating challenges. Players take control of Shade, a lone racer attempting to rise through the ranks while navigating rival pilots and high-risk competitions. The game emphasizes aggressive racing, allowing players to slam, shunt, and disable opponents while adapting to each track’s unique hazards.
In addition to its single-player campaign, Galactic Racer includes competitive multiplayer modes, offering head-to-head races that lean into the game’s high-speed, combat-focused mechanics. Developers describe the experience as a modern take on Star Wars racing, blending arcade-style action with progression systems designed to reward mastery and experimentation.
More details, including extended gameplay footage and additional modes, are expected to be revealed closer to launch.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is scheduled to release in 2026.
