Star Wars Outlaws Two Major Locations Discussed by Devs

Visit the iconic Tatooine, and explore the new Toshara!

Ubisoft Massive and Lucasfilm recently shared new details about the upcoming video game Star Wars Outlaws at San Diego Comic-Con.

Star Wars Outlaws Major Two Locations Explained

According to the developers in an interview with IGN, players of Star Wars Outlaws can actually work for or betray a certain client if they want to. The game has currently revealed only two locations which are the new moon Toshara and Tatooine.

Toshara

Director Julian Gerighty revealed that Toshara, the new moon, is inspired by the eastern African savannah. It was specifically designed with heroine Kay Vess’ speeder in mind with lots of open plains. To take inspiration from it, the team visited Tanzania.

Toshara is a place specifically designed by Ubisoft Massive to let players live out their scoundrel fantasy. It is not just a city carved into a giant rock, but it is the use of wind power connecting the plains to the city is its highlight.

Tatooine

The panel revealed that Tatooine is not just a re-creation but it is about creating a place with its own sense of history. “When we first thought about where to bring Kay,” Gerighty said, “Lucasfilm Games encouraged us to create our own locations, and Toshara was born out of that challenge. How would Massive build that open world? That hive of scum and villainy.”

“We start off with a biome, in this case, southeast African biomes as an inspiration, and then you put a twist on it to make it feel a little bit alien,” Gerighty said. “If you think of the first shots, maybe not the first shots, but the first the shots of Tatooine. Beautiful, recognizable architecture, but two suns. For us, it’s having this huge mountain and carved into it into the amberine of the mountain, the crystalline substance is a city, and these outcroppings of orange, very reflective material. That’s what brings the really alien nature to it. Familiar but fresh.”

Working for Jabba the Hutt

Gerighty revealed that players can work or betray Jabba the Hutt in the game to serve their own purposes. It allows them the freedom to choose which road they want to take without any restrictions.

Star Wars Outlaws launches in 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
