The Game Awards 2025 nominations are here, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is leading the pack with a record-breaking 12 nominations, the most ever received by a single title in the event’s history.

Announced earlier today by The Game Awards, the list celebrates the games, studios, and creatives that defined 2025. This year’s nominations span 102 different titles across genres and platforms.

The coveted Game of the Year category includes:

    • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (Sandfall Interactive / Kepler Interactive)
    • Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (Kojima Productions / Sony Interactive Entertainment)
    • Donkey Kong Bananza (Nintendo)
    • Hades II (Supergiant Games)
    • Hollow Knight: Silksong (Team Cherry)
    • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (Warhorse Studios / Deep Silver)

In film and television crossovers, the Best Adaptation nominees highlight how gaming IPs continue to expand into entertainment. This year’s lineup includes A Minecraft Movie, Devil May Cry, The Last of Us: Season 2, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, and Until Dawn.

According to the announcement, Sony Interactive Entertainment leads all publishers with 19 nominations, followed by Kepler Interactive with 13, and Electronic Arts and Microsoft tied with 10 each.

The Game Awards 2024 drew a record 154 million global livestreams, marking a 31% increase from 2023’s 118 million. Organizers expect even greater reach this year as co-streamers and creators prepare to host their own live reactions.

The event will again feature musical performances by The Game Awards Orchestra, conducted by Lorne Balfe, alongside exclusive world premiere announcements. Executive producers Geoff Keighley and Kimmie Kim return, with Richard Preuss directing and LeRoy Bennett serving as creative director.
