After more than a year in early access, The Rogue Prince of Persia has officially launched. Announced during the Xbox @ gamescom broadcast, the 2D action-platforming rogue-lite from publisher Ubisoft and developer Evil Empire is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The game is also available for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass and Ubisoft+. A release for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 is planned for later this year.
The full release marks the culmination of a lengthy early access period on Steam, during which the game received over 15 major updates directly incorporating community feedback. This development journey included an entirely reworked art direction, a new color palette, additional biomes, and a wealth of new weapons, enemies, and gameplay systems.
“Thanks to their feedback, we’ve delivered over fifteen major updates,” said Lucie Dewagnier, Game Director at Evil Empire. “Their passion helped us shape the game into the fast, fluid, and replayable experience we always envisioned.”
The Rogue Prince of Persia blends fluid, acrobatic combat with challenging parkour across procedurally generated levels. Players will wall-run, dodge traps, and chain stylish combos using over 100 unlockable weapons and medallions to save the Persian kingdom.
Coinciding with the launch, the game’s immersive soundtrack, created by Persian-American artist ASADI, will be available on all streaming platforms on August 22nd.
