CD Projekt RED has recently posted online that it is currently investigating the issues that appeared on The Witcher 3 PC version after the next-gen update got released.
The next-gen update was recently released on all platforms today which improved visuals and performance of the game. It has truly now become a next-gen game, but this new update comes with a price it seems.
Several PCP players have reported recently that they encountered various technical issues when they played The Witcher 3 after installing the latest update. CDPR was quick to post online and be honest about it.
“We are aware of the issues PC players have been reporting since last night’s release of the update,” CDPR posted on Twitter. “We are actively investigating all of the reports and will be providing an update on particular issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!”
CDPR Global Community Director Marcin Momot also stated, “While the team is working on fixing the issues PC players have been reporting, please make sure to have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed as it may help with some of the problems you’re experiencing.”
Other players are also experiencing issues right now, especially on consoles. They say that when they updated their base game and when installed the PS5 version, the saves they had on the PS4 version were not there. They even enabled the cross-progression feature on the PS5 but the PS4 version does not have it. Also, the other free DLCs that the PS4 version has are not available on the PS5 version, which only contains both expansions. Some have also experienced upgrading their copies but their expansions would get errors when installed.
CDPR is also trying to fix these issues as well and some say these are being done by region.
The Witcher 3 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
