Top Upcoming Games of Q1 2018

It’s just the start of January and as a gamer, there’s nothing more that excites me than waiting for that game that we all have been wanting to play. The first quarter of the year is chock full of games that all players are waiting for with bated breath. I have compiled here the best of the best of what’s to come. I am basing this list on officially announced dates but whether they will actually release or not entirely depends on the makers of the game. So here they are without further adieu:

Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom

    Release Date: March 23, 2018

Ever since I’ve played Ni No Kuni and The White Witch and the announcement of the sequel, I have been anticipatedly waiting for this game to come out. This game has been highly regarded by the community. Ni No Kuni and the White Witch was a Playstation exclusive but the sequel is getting released for PC as well. From what we know of the game so far it has an entirely different story from the first game but it seems that the location is the same as that of the first one. This could likely mean that we will get more games in the future with different stories that will be all based on the same location.

    Monster Hunter World

    Release Date: January 26, 2018

Everyone has been waiting for this game to come out ever since it was announced. This will be the first of the Monster Hunter World to graze the current gen consoles as previously they only showed up in handheld ones like the 3DS. I’ve played the beta hands-on during last years ESGS and I had a wonderful time playing it. Here’s to hoping that experience carries over to the launched game.

    Far Cry 5

    Release Date: March 27, 2018

Far Cry 5 will be the first in the series to have Co-Op the entire game. I can’t wait to see how they will implement this and how the Co-Op partner plays out in the story. Hopefully it won’t have issues with the drop-in drop-out feature so that the game can play seamlessly whether you want to play solo or not. You and your friend will have to buy the game separately though if you want to play together.

    Shadow of the Colossus

    Release Date: February 6, 2018

The beautiful world of Colossi will finally be remade for the PS4. I haven’t really finished the game but I am waiting for this game to come out so I can finally have my go at finishing it. This will also be great for those who has never owned the PS3 or PS2 version.

    Secret of Mana

    Release Date: February 15, 2018

I have never played the Secret of Mana before (forgive me diehard fans!) but I will definitely get to play it now when it comes out. This has had a lot of buzz recently especially for those who have been yearning for the golden days of good ole RPGs. I will surely not miss out on this one in this generation.

    A Way Out

    Release Date: March 23, 2018

A Way Out boasts a seamless drop-in drop-out split screen co-op and you can play it either in offline or online mode. Your friend also doesn’t need to buy the game for you guys to enjoy an online coop experience as the game comes with a friend pass that your friend can use to play the game without buying it. I really am excited for the potential of the game and how it will impact gaming in general.

So there you have it. Which games are you waiting to play this quarter? Let us know in the comments!
