Xbox came out swinging for the start of gamescom 2025, using the Opening Night Live stage to showcase a powerful lineup of upcoming titles from its global studios. The presentation featured major announcements from Activision, Blizzard, and Xbox Game Studios, setting a high bar for the week-long event.
The show opened with a massive reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The first look at the next installment from Treyarch detailed its co-op campaign, a significant feature for the series, and provided teasers for its highly anticipated Multiplayer and Zombies modes.
Blizzard Entertainment also made its presence felt, unveiling a stunning new cinematic trailer for World of Warcraft: Midnight, the next chapter in the ongoing Worldsoul Saga. The trailer sets the stage for the expansion, which promises to be a pivotal moment for the long-running MMO.
Fans were also treated to a fresh look at Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds 2, which showcased new gameplay from the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG sequel. Another major title, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, received a new gameplay trailer for its first DLC, “The Order of Giants.”
