Game publisher SEGA has recently announced that Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be coming to western countries in August this year. Fans go crazy after the announcement was made during an event.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 finally coming to western shores
SEGA announced during the event at the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California that the remake of the popular PlayStation 2 video game Yakuza 2 will be coming to North America and Europe. It will be released this year on Aug. 28, and it will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
Two locations this time around, new studio logo
The video game will have two locations. For the most part of the story, it will begin in Kamurocho, Tokyo. Kazuma Kiryu, the main protagonist, will also travel to another part of Japan, which is in Osaka.
Aside from the locations, the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed their new logo to the fans. It has a sweet and refreshing design.
Dragon Engine re-creation
The studio re-created Yakuza Kiwami 2 with the game engine called the Dragon Engine. The development team used it to develop the recent Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. They promised that the game will have gorgeous graphics and seamless transitions between different battles or even leaving the area or building.
The team revealed that all voiced lines were re-recorded to be as true to the original ones on the PS2. They want the old and new fans to enjoy the game in its full glory.
Goro Majima included
Aside from Kiryu, Goro Majima is another playable character in the video game, just like in Yakuza 0. There will be a new Majima campaign, and he will wield his trusty dagger. It will show his side of the story after the events of Yakuza Kiwami.
Steelbook and price
North America and Europe will get the physical and digital copy of the video game for only $49.99. The first run of the game copies will include a Steelbook that has a design of Kazuma Kiryu and his opponent: Ryuji Goda.
On August 28th, two dragons will clash. Get a first look at the #YakuzaKiwami2 SteelBook Edition in the pic below. Visit the official site at https://t.co/PEt67cSLqt pic.twitter.com/eJtTP5pseB
