A voice actress of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom claims that both main characters of the series are “in a relationship” status.
This new information was revealed by the voice actress of Zelda herself, Patricia Summersett. She has voiced Zelda on multiple titles like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and the spin-off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
“As a voice actor, looking at the overall relationship between Link and Zelda over the ages, I personally love the ambiguity and that if there is something there it’s left to us,” Summersett told media outlet The Gamer in an interview.
“You’re always wondering what may occur which keeps the relationship active. There’s a tension in that, and this defiance of a definition is something really nice… I know that [Link and Zelda] are in a relationship with each other, it’s active, there’s a lot of care and a lot of listening, and I just love that about it.”
Both of these characters’ relationship with each other has been telegraphed in many incarnations of the game, but it is nice for someone who is strongly related to the game to confirm this finally. It is not surprising, but it is still good to know.
