The Mayanas Shrine is among the various shrines that can be found on the Hyrule Sky in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This shrine is all about a puzzle called “The Ice Guides You” where Link has to use ice in order to hit targets from a distance.

Read ahead as we go through the steps in order to solve the The Ice Guides You puzzle of the Mayanas Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to find the Mayanas Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

The Tears of the Kingdom Mayanas Shrine is located in the Lanayru Sea Sky region of Hyrule Sky, with coordinates 4613, -0947, 1804. The nearest tower is the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower.

Upon arrive at the sky island where the Mayanas Shrine is, you will first have to recover the shrine crystal from a nearby island. Interact with the shrine first to make it shoot a laser that leads to the crystal. Then, ride the nearby vehicle and make your way to the next island. Make sure to bring any flame weapon, cannon, or fire fruit with you to burn the vines that block the cave in the island. Bring the crystal back to the shrine to activate the shrine and enter it.

To solve the Mayanas Shrine, you will have to create ice to make metal platforms slide across spikes and hit a target. You can use the Ice Fruits or the Frost Emitters to create ice from the pool of water, then attach these ice slabs underneath the metal plates to make them slide on the spikes.

For the first target, prepare your metal plate in the middle just at the edge of the slide and time its release once the target starts going back to the middle. Once the target is hit, the gate to the next room will be opened.

You can already get your Light of Blessing at this point, but if you want to get the chest as well, prepare another metal plate and ice slab and try to hit the next target. For this target, you will have the go down just above halfway the slide and move a bit towards the right. The plate should slow down before it reaches the edge and slide left towards the target. Once the target is hit, go to the chest to get a Mighty Zonaite Shield.

If hitting the target proves to be too difficult, they can be triggered just by attaching a Bomb Flower on an arrow and shooting it at them.

That’s how to solve the The Ice Guides You puzzle in the Mayanas Shrine; you’re now one step closer to completing all 152 shrines in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You can also go to our other shrine guides to collect more Light of Blessing.
