Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Producer Offers New Advice for Beginners

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom executive shares a bit of interesting advice for beginners playing the game for the first time.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will launch worldwide soon and fans are already scrambling to get a copy before anyone else. After getting high review scores from critics, who wouldn’t? For players who will be trying it out for the first time though, Producer Eiji Aonuma shared a tip so that everyone could enjoy the game thoroughly.

Aonuma revealed that he has already completed the game 20 times and after that, he has come to a conclusion: “don’t head straight for the ending.”

The producer revealed that gunning through the story would only make the game shorter, which meant fans would not be able to enjoy the game how it is supposed to be. He says that taking detours is even more fun this time around.

“I’ve played this game from start to finish about 20 times, and I can say that it’s more fun with detours, even more so than in the previous game,” he said in a recent interview. “When testing the game, I sometimes needed to rush ahead to clear the story, but later on, as I started to go off on side paths, I realized… it’s a whole different game!”

“Even when sticking things together, there are so many different combinations that even I don’t know all of them,” he continued. “I even discovered something new the other day while shooting the gameplay demonstration video. So, it may take some time, but as you take detours and try out whatever you can at the time, I think you’ll be able to enjoy the game in your very own way.”

What Aonuma is trying to say is, you should get distracted and not go on the straight path. Try out the sidequest or explore new regions before tackling the main story. It will be worth it.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom launches on May 12, 2023 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
