Game developer Stoic Studio recently made an interesting proposal to the fans of the Banner Saga franchise: they make their own game-related trailer.
Banner Saga trailer contest has a hefty prize
Stoic Studio said that in order to celebrate the release of the upcoming third title, they want their fans to make a trailer of their own. They can use the trailers and images that the studio will provide them, use the footage from the game that players have captured, or use their own artwork. If one of them wins the first prize, they get the bragging rights for creating such an awesome video and a whopping $4,500.
The runner-up will get a digital copy of the game’s trilogy deluxe edition on PC. The three third place winners will get a digital copy of the third iteration of the game on the platform of their choosing.
Schedule and requirements
The contest started last June 28 and will end on July 20 at 11:59 P.M. Pacific Time. Here are the requirements for all entries:
- Trailers must be your original creation using the assets provided in combination with assets you own or have the proper permission to use. Submissions should not infringe on any other party’s rights or content including trademarks, logos, game capture, etc.
- Submissions should not be any longer than 5 minutes.
- You should aim for the highest quality for your trailer. We recommend 1080p or 720p.
- Your trailer must include the title, “My Banner Saga – Recap”.
- In the description of your trailer we recommend including your own explanation of your video direction in about 2-3 sentences plus links to both bannersaga.comand Embark on your own Banner Saga.
The winners will be announced on July 25. The third iteration of the game will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, and Mac on July 26.
