In a recent data mine, it was revealed that recently released first person shooter video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare could have more maps later on.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare more maps and ranges later?

Somebody data mined the PC version of the game and the information was interesting. It revealed that there were four maps and one of them is a popular map called Rust, which appears to be making a return. This could a new Gunfight 2v2 map in the near future. The other maps were named Faridah, Takedown, and Borderline, which all look like new maps. Faridah and Borderline seems to take place in the campaign’s fictional country of Urzikstan, while Takedown features a helipad in the middle of a multi-floor building at night.

Aside from these four maps, there are names of additional ones that are set to be used in the game’s standard 6v6 or 10v10 modes:

  • Aniyah Tac
  • Crash
  • Dam
  • Krovnik Farmland
  • Gulag
  • Hospital
  • Layover
  • Lowline
  • Lumber
  • Malyshev
  • Milbase
  • Oasis
  • Port
  • Prison
  • Rivne
  • Shipment
  • Shipment (Day)
  • Shipment (Night)
  • Slums
  • Stadium
  • Sub Base
  • Super
  • Urzikstan
  • Torez
  • Transit
  • TV Station

For Gunfight, there could be two new maps as well. One of them is the Exclusiion Zone that takes place in the famous Pripyat level from the original Modern Warfare title. The other one is Shoot House. There are some map names that were mined too like Cage, Cargo, and Hook, but it is not sure if these will become real maps.

Ground War mode could also get a new map called the Smetna Farms. It has an overhead map view shot, but no other details were revealed.

Possible game modes

Aside from these possible maps that were data mined, there were also two new game modes. One of it is the Gun course, which appears to be an almost complete remake of the tutorial level from Modern Warfare 2. The other possible mode is the Marksman Range, which has a screenshot of an empty hangar with many smaller targets.

There were maps data mined two months ago, but only a few ended up in the game. As always, take this as a grain of salt, but some might just make it to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare later.
