Microsoft Telling Game Publishers Not To Charge Players For Xbox Series X Upgrades

Game company Microsoft has recently told game developers and publishers about what to do with the Xbox Series X upgrade for their titles.

A report by VideoGamesChronicle, sources said that Microsoft is asking developers and publishers not to charge upgrades to players who want to upgrade their games from the Xbox One version to Xbox Series X. They are encouraged to offer free next-gen upgrades either via its Smarth Delivery system or the publisher or developer’s methods.

Only 14 titles were confirmed to have Smart Delivery system like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Cyerpunk 2077, and more.

On a related note, EA has revealed its own Dual Entitlement scheme. Individuals who will buy Madden NFL21 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to get the next-gen versions for free. First they will have to claim the game before it is released.

2K Games has made its own move, which made gamers speculate that the next-gen games will be $10 expensive more than current gen games.
