Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features Courageous Warriors to Duel and Recruit

Assassins Creed Valhalla

Upcoming video game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is continuing the tradition of fighting legendary beasts and heroes, dangerous “monsters”, and gods of mythology. This time around it will be based on Norse mythology and one of those are these powerful and “courageous” warriors that Viking protagonist Eivor will have to fight as they settle their clan in England.

Narrative Director Darby McDevitt recently talked with Gamesradar about these legendary warriors called The Lost Drengr of Rangar Lothbrok.

The guys from Gamesradar were able to test out the game on its early stages and fought one of these Lost Drengr. This warrior was called Thor the Fishmonger who followed a famous Viking called Ragnar Lothbrok.

McDevitt explained:

Ragnar Lothbrok was a very famous Viking who came over to England about 10 years before our game is set. He did quite a bit of damage and made a lot of enemies, and there were two kings in the north – or two men in the north who wanted to be king – who put their differences aside and banded together to try to defeat Ragnar.

What we’ve done is created a group of people – six warriors or Drengr (courageous warriors) – who have lost all sense of purpose now that their leader, their Jarl or their king, Ragnar, is dead.

Players can now find these Drengr across England and Norway in order to fight them. Each of them has a story to tell and want to die in a glorious battle so that they can return to Ragnar in Valhalla. It is up to Eivor to get them to side with them and give them what they want in life.

Getting these warriors to join your side will definitely become a big asset in the war effort. These guys are really strong warriors and will cause tons of damage against armies. There are more legendary units to recruit in the game too.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to launch on Nov. 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions will be available when the next-gen consoles get released this coming holiday season 2020.
