Investors Considering Suing CD Projekt RED After Disastrous Launch of Cyberpunk 2077

According to a recent report, the investors of game studio CD Projekt RED are actually exploring the possibility of filing a class action lawsuit against them after what happened to the disastrous and controversial launch of video game Cyberpunk 2077.

The report by The New York Times stated that a Polish financial website Bankier has reported that a Warsaw-based attorney and his steam are analyzing if there are grounds for a class action lawsuit. They are suing the developers for misrepresenting the game.

The report revealed that this law team is actually looking into whether CD Projekt RED is guilty of breaking article 286 of the Polish penal code. This is all about misrepresentation just to get financial benefits from it. As far as I can read the many reports about it, it seems to be that way.

After the game’s buggy launch and the numerous problems people experienced when playing on a base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the gaming community has hounded the developers to make it better and refund them. Some are even saying that they have fooled them into buying something clearly not ready for release yet.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has recently pulled the game from the PSN Store and has offered refunds to its customers, which is a first for them. Microsoft has also followed suit, but will not pull out the game from their stores.

The development team is speculated to be on overdrive mode in order to dish out more updates that could fix these game-breaking bugs. It was also reported that its developers are angry at their executives due to controversy.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC and Xbox One. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades are possibly coming next year or maybe then next year to that. PS4 versions have been removed from the PSN store but can still be bought in physical form at local retail shops.
