Company SUP3R5 has recently cancelled all sales of the highly-anticipated black PlayStation 5 consoles after its staff was threatened.
The PS2-inspired black versions of the PS5 will not be available for purchase anymore after the company’s staff was threatened recently by another party presumably angry customers. In a tweet release recently, the company stated that the “team began receiving credible threats to their safety.”
All 300+ units will be cancelled, which were reportedly sold out after it was launched. It did have price tags of $650 and $750 for the digital-only and standard versions. It was revealed that many US customers got incomplete orders and that they were upset as a result. Even the international launch was delayed, but now totally cancelled.
While the company stated that they will be giving full refunds to customers who have already paid, some have reported they have not received those refunds yet.
We intended this to be a fun way to celebrate a shared nostalgia. As it turns out, there are people out there who are willing to interfere with that. If we determine that it’s safe to try again, we will. For now, please stay safe.
For now, fans will have to purchase the standard versions that will be restocked soon or wait for SUP3R5 to announce another release.
