PS3, Vita and PSP Stores Reportedly to be Shut Down Permanently Soon

PlayStation Vita

According to a new report, the PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PSP stores will be permanently closing shop soon.

Media outlet The Gamer reported that the three platforms will be shutting down its stores soon starting from July. There will be an announcement by the end of this month.

The source verified the media outlet revealed that the PSP and PS3 stores will be shut down on July 2. The PS Vita store will be closing on August 27. Players will not be able to purchase any games or DLCs from those platforms after those dates.

There is no mention that these games will not be downloadable after closing down the stores, so it should be possible to download them afterwards. No confirmation yet, but that should be the case. For those who have these consoles though and they want to purchase games then it would be the time to get them now. The physical copies will definitely have a price increase when these stores are shut down.
