Resident Evil 4 Remake Update Reportedly Including Pay-to-Win Mechanics

It's a mechanic that the gaming community is not a fan of.

A new report has revealed that the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake update will be adding pay-to-win mechanics in the new mode it will add.

According to some players in New Zealand who already got the update earlier, the upcoming update that will finally introduce The Mercenaries mode will add a certain mechanic that has been frowned upon by the gaming community. It was revealed that it will have a pay-to-win mechanic in the form of premium weapon upgrade tickets that can be bought with real-world money. It will upgrade the weapons used by the characters that will be included in the most-awaited extra mode.

It was revealed that 1 ticket will be priced at $3, $7 for three tickets, and so on and so forth. This has not been confirmed yet in the US as the update is still unavailable in other countries, but there are screenshots of the tickets sold on the PlayStation Store New Zealand. This will definitely upset a lot of fans of The Mercenaries mode and Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
