Caves in LEGO Fortnite are dangerous dungeons filled with special monsters, but they also contain important resources used in upgrades, building, and crafting. Since the world is procedurally generated, there’s no set location where caves can be found. You’ll want to keep an eye out for these, as they’re essentially farm sites that offer special resources not found anywhere else.
Read ahead as we teach you how and where to find caves in LEGO Fortnite.
Where to Find Caves in LEGO Fortnite
To find caves in LEGO Fortnite, you have to look for the cave entrances. These entrances look like rocky formations that rise up from the ground and have a large entry at the front. They can spawn just about anywhere in each biome.
Caves you discover will be saved on your map by an icon. Anytime you want to revisit it, just use your map to lead the way. It contains resources that are crucial for some of the best upgrades and structures in LEGO Fortnite, so you’ll want to take note.
Going into a cave isn’t seamless, as the locations are separated by a loading screen. Caves also don’t have a map inside once you’re in, so it’s easy to get lost if you don’t take the time to remember where you came from. Some caves can be labyrinths, but there are also smaller caves that don’t have as much room.
Each biome has its own unique caves to discover. You’ll find different enemy types, resources, and environmental conditions inside. Think of them like dungeons, where you can even find chests that offer items.
LEGO Fortnite Cave Resources, Enemies, and Conditions
Each biome have their own unique caves that offer different and unique resources, enemies, and conditions. Here are all of the cave types in LEGO Fortnite and what they offer:
Grassland Caves
The Grasslands Biome has the most approachable caves, with beginner-friendly mobs and sprawling resources like Knotroot and Marble to collect. There are no hazardous conditions other than the fact that it’s darker compared to the other caves. You’ll encounter some Skeletons and Rollers as enemies as well.
Lava Caves
The Dry Valley caves are extremely dangerous for their heat and a never ending amount of enemies that causes explosions. This is the home of the Blaster mobs who thrive in the heat. They’ll drop the extremely Blast Cores which is needed to craft some of the most useful items in the game.
The Lava Caves may be dangerous but they also offer a lot of important resources like Obsidian, Brightcore, Rough Ruby, and Copper. You’ll need at least a Rare Pickaxe to mine for those and be careful they don’t end up on the lava. If you’re going to explore lava caves for resources, you better pack a lot of food and charms for Heat Resistance.
Snowy Caves
Frostland Caves, as you can expect, are freezing cold. There are tons of icy enemies you’ll encounter in this cave, but they aren’t as dangerous as the ones in the lava caves. The main problem is surviving the freezing environment.
The Snowy Caves are still dangerous, but they also contain materials like Iron and Rough Sapphire to mine for. However, you’ll need Epic Pickaxe to be able to mine them. Just make sure that your Cold Resistance is all the way to the maximum or else you won’t last more than a couple of minutes.
