Rebel Wolves, the studio co-founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz (Director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), has finally lifted the veil on their highly anticipated action RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker. Set in an alternate 14th-century Europe ravaged by the Black Death, the game throws players into a world where vampires have seized power, overthrowing feudal lords and claiming dominion over a weakened humanity.
In The Blood of Dawnwalker, players take on the role of Coen, a young man forcibly turned into a “Dawnwalker” – a being caught between the realms of human and vampire. With only 30 days and nights, players must navigate a narrative sandbox to save their family, or succumb to their newfound powers and seek revenge.
Rebel Wolves has released an opening cinematic showcasing the game’s dark and atmospheric world, introducing Coen, his sister Lunka, and the charismatic vampire lord, Brencis. A glimpse of in-engine gameplay footage further teases the action-packed combat and intriguing world that awaits players.
Tomaszkiewicz emphasizes the game’s unique approach to storytelling: “There are multiple approaches to saving Coen’s family with no clear division between main and side quests… We call it a narrative sandbox.” Time is a critical resource, and every choice impacts how the story unfolds, ensuring each playthrough is a unique experience.
Coen’s dual nature as a Dawnwalker offers distinct gameplay possibilities. Depending on the time of day, players will wield different abilities and face varying consequences for their actions. This dynamic system allows players to truly define their path, choosing to embrace their vampiric powers or fight for their fading humanity.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5 and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, The Blood of Dawnwalker promises a visually stunning and immersive experience. The game is slated for release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026.
