German indie developer Maschinen-Mensch has announced that their roguelike platformer hybrid, Mother Machine, will launch on March 26, 2025.
The release date reveal came alongside a brand-new gameplay trailer showcasing the titular Mother Machine and highlighting new mechanics and updated visuals. Fans eager to experience the chaotic co-op gameplay can jump into a demo available now on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest. The demo supports online multiplayer for up to four players, complete with matchmaking and a hub area to team up with friends or other spelunkers.
Mother Machine puts players in control of customizable, 3D-printed gremlins tasked by their robot mother to explore the sprawling, ever-changing cave networks of a derelict space colony. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game promises hours of co-op chaos across countless procedurally-generated levels filled with alien enemies, rare technology, and dark secrets.
Set thousands of years in the future in an abandoned human colony, Mother Machine tells the story of a lonely AI who creates gremlins for companionship and tasks them with exploring the dangerous caves below.
A demo of Mother Machine is now available until the end of Steam Next Fest. The game is expected to launch next month on March 26, 2025, on PC.
