A new chapter begins for The Elder Scrolls Online with the launch of Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk, now available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
This marks the start of ESO’s new seasonal model, with each season lasting around 90 days and offering themed content, events, and rewards. All seasonal gameplay content is free for players who own the game.
The Night Market Event and New Zone

Season Zero kicks off with The Night Market, a limited-time event running from April 29 to June 17.
Players will explore a new area in the Oblivion realm of Fargrave, where they can align with one of three factions and take on PvE challenges. Completing these activities can reward players with a free player home, Night’s Den.
Class Updates and Player Improvements
Available now is the first class refresh for the Dragonknight, alongside more than 20 quality-of-life updates aimed at reducing grind.
Some of the changes include:
- Faster mount training
- Easier skill respec options
- Bag upgrades and increased furnishing limits
More updates and class refreshes are planned throughout 2026.
Challenge Difficulty and PvP Updates
Later in the season, ESO will introduce Challenge Difficulty, an optional system that adds four tiers of increased difficulty for overland content, launching on June 8.
PvP is also getting updates, including a new Veterancy progression system and continued testing for Cyrodiil.
Tamriel Tomes Reward System

Season Zero also introduces Tamriel Tomes, a new progression system that combines daily rewards and Endeavors into one system.
Players can earn currencies, consumables, and collectibles, with both free and premium reward tracks available throughout the season.
What This Means for ESO Players
This shift to a seasonal model feels like a major change for ESO, moving toward a more structured and regularly updated experience.
Between rotating content, new systems like Tamriel Tomes, and ongoing class updates, it looks like the goal is to keep players engaged without relying on large, infrequent expansions.
