Remember that horror game that scared the shit out of us back in 2010? The horror game that every Youtuber was playing? Well, following A Machine For Pigs we haven’t really gotten any news if there is any sequel that Frictional Games is planning on making. Now, seven years later, a new Amnesia title has been unveiled for the PS4.
Amnesia: Rebirth is the sequel which gives us an entirely new protagonist, setting, and gameplay mechanics. The game is due to release sometime in the end of 2020, but we don’t have an exact date. Creative Director, Thomas Grip, describes the upcoming game in PlayStation Blog.
As you might expect from a Frictional game, we’re not simply going for a carnival attraction of jumpscares. Amnesia: Rebirth is an emotionally harrowing journey — something different, something less predictable. It will test you in ways you haven’t experienced before, and will make you think about the things that really scare you.
The last game Frictional Games has released was five years ago, SOMA. We’ve been kept relatively in the dark until now, so it’s exciting to see what Frictional Games has to offer on their 2020 return.
