Assassin’s Creed Mirage – Notoriety Explained and How to Lower Notoriety

If you're looking a way out from trouble, here we outline the AC Mirage notoriety system and how to lower it.

In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, managing your notoriety level becomes essential. Engage in criminal actions, and Basim will be on the radar of Baghdad’s authorities, even drawing attention from vigilant locals. The game introduces the notoriety mechanic, a novel feature in the Assassin’s Creed series. For players seeking tips on how to quickly decrease their notoriety in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you’re in the right place.

Notoriety Explained

At the lower left, you will see the notoriety gauge.

Introduced in the Assassin’s Creed series, notoriety measures the repercussions Basim faces after engaging in illicit activities. Actions like theft, assassination, and trespassing into restricted zones will inevitably catch the eyes of the guards, thus escalating your notoriety. The gravity of the authorities’ response is directly proportional to the seriousness of your offense.

You can find the notoriety gauge at the lower right of your screen. You will notice three different notoriety level icons. Each notoriety level will present distinct challenges, which means it gets more complicated when the notoriety level goes up:

  • Level 1: Civilians will identify Basim and immediately alert nearby guards, plus Wanted Poster signs will appear across Baghdad’s walls.
  • Level 2: Guards become more vigilant, increasing the chances of spotting Basim. Rooftops are no longer safe as archers intensify their patrols. Civilians will still alert nearby guards, and the frequency of Wanted Posters increases, drawing more attention from bystanders.
  • Level 3: The formidable Shakiriyya elite guards join the hunt, and they’re not to be taken lightly. Basim becomes a prime target for every guard, and with civilians gathering around Wanted Posters, the odds of being identified and reported increase dramatically.

How to Lower Notoriety

You do not want guards to always be on your tail; you must clear Basim’s notoriety level to avoid unwanted attention from the guards.

To lower Basim’s notoriety levels, you can choose either of the two steps: remove Wanted Posters and/or bribe a Munadi.

How to Find and Remove Wanted Posters

Once you remove a Wanted Poster, that will immediately decrease Basim’s notoriety level by one. This means you will need to remove three Wanted Posters to completely remove Basim’s notoriety status.

In order to find Wanted Posters in Baghdad, you must be aware of your surroundings since wooden boards with painted canvas will appear on building walls. You can also rely on your compass, as the Wanted Poster icon appears when you’re closer to it. You can even use Eagle Vision to reveal Wanted Posters on the wall and these will be highlighted in orange.

How to Bribe a Munadi

A Munadi.

If you’re closer to a Munadi, you can simply bribe him using a Power Token. They’re pointed by a ripped Wanted Poster icon on your compass. These Munadis are usually noisy within the area and they usually wear red clothing. Unlike removing posters, bribing a Munadi will instantly remove all levels of Basim’s notoriety.

Power tokens can be obtained by pickpocketing people or by completing Contracts.
