Game company Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially announced its cancelation of support for several action fighting games for world tour tournaments this year.
Three popular action fighting games: Tekken, SoulCalibur, and Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Tournaments 2020 have their official support pulled out due to the care and concern for the health and safety of tournament participants and staff from the COVID-19 global pandemic. The gaming company has decided to cancel all remaining physical tournament events in the 2020 season to avoid a tragedy.
However, the game company is already finalizing online competition event solutions for the remainder of the year. They have promised to reveal more news about these online events soon.
While the official support has been pulled, the individual tournament organizers can still hold physical events. It is all up to the competitors and fans to join these physical events and use their best judgment for their final decision.
