Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to Find the Melting Furnace in BG3

The Melting Furnace is a structure that can be found within Baldur’s Gate 3. This forge is essential in crafting masterwork weapons that could give an edge to starting adventurers. Read ahead as we talk about where to locate the Melting Furnace in BG3.

    BG3: Melting Furnace Location

The Melting Furnace in BG3 is located inside a house within the Blighted Village. This house is the one directly across the Blighted Village waypoint (X:-450, Y:-375).

BG3: How to use the Melting Furnace

To use the Melting Furnace, interact with the forge first to ignite it. Then, use the bellows beside to make the flame grow larger.

From here on, the forge is used to create masterwork versions of particular weapons such as the dagger, sickle, and the greatsword. You will need to find Highcliff’s Blueprints first which will teach you the recipe on how to forge the masterwork weapons, and it can be found in a locked chest within the same room the forge is in.

To make masterwork weapons, you will need to venture down into the Underdark to get Sussur Bark (X:-15, Y:-141), which is the key ingredient in making such weapons.

Bring the Sussur Bark and a common grade weapon (dagger, sickle, or greatsword) over to the Melting Furnace. First, place the bark in the forge then hit the combine button. This will make the flames turn blue. Next, place the weapon into the slot and press combine once more. You will then receive the masterwork version of the weapon as a result.
