After careful deliberation with the staff, game company Blizzard has decided to cancel BlizzCon 2021 live event.
Instead of this year’s live event, there will be a new one early next year. Blizzard plans to host a physical and digital version this time around.
Last year, BlizzCon 2020 was cancelled as well due to the global pandemic and this time around, it is still the same but good reason. It was expected that it was going to be cancelled with the pandemic still around, but hopefully the next one it will be successful.
Some fans have been wondering why there were no updates from Blizzard. With this, it seems the answer is clear: they were really trying hard to make it happen, but it was not just possible with the guidelines in California have continued to evolve.
Next year will be something to look forward to though. It will be a global event held in the early part of 2022 with the combination of an online show and a smaller in-person gathering style. No specific date for that yet, but at least we have a window.
