Just days after the successful launch of its acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team has announced a new original IP, Cronos: The New Dawn. The game is a sci-fi survival horror title scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The reveal took place during the recent Xbox Partner Preview, where the first official cinematic trailer for the game was premiered.
Cronos: The New Dawn is described as Bloober Team’s first original IP within the survival horror genre, representing a strategic evolution for the Polish development studio. The game presents a time-travel narrative set in a post-apocalyptic future and the gritty industrial reality of 1980s Poland. Players will assume the role of a Traveler, an agent of an organization known as the Collective, tasked with a mission to extract specific individuals from the past who did not survive an event known as the Change.
Players will be required to survive a deadly, desolate wasteland inhabited by monstrous abominations that will test their combat abilities. The game aims to merge the studio’s experience with eerie horror atmospheres and the potential of science fiction to deliver a new survival experience.
Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, provided commentary on the new project, stating, “Following the success of Silent Hill 2, we are proud to present Cronos, an exciting new IP from Bloober Team. Our commitment to redefining the horror genre continues with this survival horror title, which represents a natural progression of our creative vision and our studio’s strategy. By merging the eerie atmosphere of horror with the boundless potential of science fiction, Cronos promises to deliver a fresh survival experience. We can’t wait to share it with the world in 2025.”
The game is currently available to wishlist on digital storefronts, with its release planned for 2025.
