What happens when everyone is hunkered down inside their homes, gets to play free, and nothing else to do? Well, Call of Duty: Warzone got over 30 million players with that result.
Call of Duty: Warzone surpasses other free-to-play games records
Fortnite has become the top contender in the free-to-play arena for 3 long years because it is battle royale and there has been no need to pay for anything in order to play. Then appears Warzone all of a sudden and it has overtaken it by a mile in just 10 days since it launched. It also helped that the COVID-19 pandemic is still going on and people are stuck inside their homes.
In just 10 days, Warzone has achieved a lot of lead. Since 72 hours after it launched, it gained 15 million players. A week after that, it just doubled the number and sent the competitors downward. Apex Legends is now down to second place. It took a month for Apex Legends to gain 50 million players. It will be a big achievement for Warzone if it surpasses that number also in a month, heck even less than that.
The battle-royale game is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is all free and you do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play it online on PS4.
Thanks DualShockers.
