Bloober Team, the acclaimed studio behind the upcoming SILENT HILL 2 Remake, cast a new shadow over Gamescom Opening Night Live with a haunting cinematic trailer for its third-person survival horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn. The reveal culminated with a confirmed release date of September 5, 2025.
The atmospheric new trailer, titled “A New Breed of Horror,” immerses viewers in the desolate ruins of New Dawn, beginning from the eerie, ground-level perspective of a cat. Set to the haunting track “Sixteen Days / Gathering Dust” by This Mortal Coil, the cinematic showcases the game’s central figure, The Traveler, in tense encounters with grotesque creatures known as The Orphans. The reveal was punctuated by a surprise on-stage appearance from a cosplayer dressed as The Traveler, stepping directly out of the game’s world.
Cronos: The New Dawn is an original narrative set in an abstract reinterpretation of the real-world Nowa Huta district of Kraków, Poland. The story unfolds across two distinct timelines: a gritty, industrial 1980s and a desolate, post-apocalyptic future. Bloober Team is blending retro realism with dystopian sci-fi to create a world steeped in psychological depth and mystery.
The game represents a new direction for the horror masters, who are aiming to deliver a unique survival horror experience driven by its powerful original story.
Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled to launch on September 5, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
