Starfield Is Coming to PS5 With a New Update and DLC

Starfield is officially coming to PlayStation 5, marking one of the biggest platform expansions for Bethesda’s space RPG since its launch.

The announcement was made during the Starfield Digital Preview event, where Bethesda confirmed that the PS5 version will launch alongside the game’s next major update and DLC.

“We’re really excited to welcome a whole new group of players into the Settled Systems,” said Tim Lamb, Lead Creative Producer on Starfield.

The PlayStation 5 release will arrive together with the Free Lanes update and the Terran Armada DLC, giving new players access to what Bethesda describes as the most complete version of the game yet.

Since its original launch, Starfield has continued to evolve through updates shaped by player feedback. These include performance improvements, quality-of-life features, and new systems that expand how the game is played.

“Starfield has grown a bit since then, and that growth has been shaped by what players have told us,” Lamb said.

With the Free Lanes update, players will be able to travel between planets in real time, encounter events during space travel, and interact more freely with their ship and crew.

At the same time, the Terran Armada DLC introduces new missions, enemies, and combat systems, adding more depth to the overall experience.

Bethesda also confirmed updated pricing for the game. The standard edition will be priced at $49.99, while the premium edition will cost $69.99 and includes Shattered Space, Terran Armada, and additional in-game credits.

These new prices will also apply across Xbox and PC.

Looking ahead, Bethesda confirmed that support for Starfield will continue beyond this release.

“When we launch a game, we always plan to support it for a number of years,” Lamb said. “There’s a lot more in the lore… things we still want to pursue.”

With its PS5 launch, major update, and new DLC arriving together on April 7, 2026, Starfield is entering a new phase, one that aims to bring in new players while giving returning ones more ways to explore the universe.
