Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty are the “last big updates” for the game according to its game director.

Game Director Gabe Amatangelo recently confirmed that CD Projekt RED is not planning to add any more major updates for Cyberpunk 2077. He stated that they are now switching its focus to other projects, which include the game’s sequel.

“2.0 and Phantom Liberty are the last big updates,” Amatangelo said to PC Gamer in an interview. “We’ll do a little something more, but those are the last big ones. Then it’s Cyberpunk 2. Or ‘Orion,’ I should say, whatever we end up naming it.”

CDPR did say last month that its decision to only release one expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 was a technological one. Its reason was the company’s plan to switch to Unreal Engine for developing future titles, which is a wise choice.

It was also reported that a major part of the Phantom Liberty’s 300 team will be joining the 260 developers working on future titles like the next Witcher game.
