Catch The Runaway Seahorses is one of the side quests in Dave the Diver. In this quest, four seahorses have run away, and it’s up to Dave to wrangle them all back into the stables. Read ahead as we share the locations of where to find the seahorses in Dave the Diver.
How to start the Catch The Runaway Seahorses side quest
To start the Catch The Runaway Seahorses side quest, you will have to travel to the Game Parlor in the Sea People Village and talk to Linchen. She will then ask for your help in finding the four seahorses that have scattered within the village.
Seahorse Locations
The Seahorses can be found both within the village grounds and inside particular buildings. They are small, but there will be quest markers that will help you see them. You only need to use your net once you approach the seahorses to catch them.
Hedgehog Seahorse
The Hedgehog Seahorse can be found near the Portal, next to King Long’s statue.
Giraffe Seahorse
The Giraffe Seahorse can be found outside Mima’s Restaurant, next to the yellow banner.
Dwarf Seahorse
The Dwarf Seahorse can be found inside the Seed Shop, which is on the west side of the village.
Crowned Seahorse
The Crowned Seahorse can be found inside Tenzhin’s House. To get to Tenzhin’s House, take the Portal to get to the upper level of the village where the house is.
Once you have captured all four seahorses, go back to Linchen and she will reward you with 20 Bei and 20 Credits towards The Sea People Village’s Trust quest. You will also get access to the Seahorse Races minigame inside the Game Parlor.
How to play the Seahorse Races minigame
You can play the minigame by talking to Yami near the door of the Game Parlor. As a beginner, you will be given a seahorse to play with, but you can catch your own seahorses out in the sea and then bring them back to register them for the races.
To play the Seahorse Race, pick a seahorse from your registered seahorses. Make sure that the one you picked is well rested so that it can perform well in the race. Check your opponents first to see their seahorses’ stats, then select a seahorse that can match all of them. You can also select whether you would like to race solo or in a team.
Once you are on the track, you will need to mash your Cheer button to make your seahorse go. You will only need to cheer as much as the meter touches the maximum green part of the seahorse’s “speedometer”, otherwise it will get in the red, which will actually slow the seahorse down. Continue doing this until you have reached the finish line. In more difficult races, you will have to avoid obstacles by either jumping over or sliding under them.
You will then get a prize depending if you have placed 1st to 3rd or not.
Whenever you catch a seahorse out in the wild and head back to the boat, you will be asked if you want to move the seahorses you caught back to your inventory. Seahorses that are left in your catch box will be sent to Bancho to be prepared for dishes.
