Days Gone’s release has been pushed back to 2019. We were informed about the change of its estimated release date, Sony did not include any information as to why it was delayed. As we wait for the upcoming open-world zombie apocalypse with the Star Wars The Force Unleashed star, John Garvin, the Creative Director for the game, told Game Informer that people might be wrong about what they think of the game.
“It’s not the zombie game [people] think.” said Garvin.
He also noted that Days Gone is going to be about 30 hours or even more depending on the situation you’re put into in the game. “The golden path is going to take you about 30 hours,” Garvin told Game Informer. “But it’s going to take you a lot longer than that because things are going to happen to you along the way depending on how careful you are and how much you pay attention.”
Most open-world role-playing games last about that long nowadays, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Days Gone will be more than 30 hours of gameplay. As long as the side missions will not be dragging and if it’s rewarding enough for players to take them on, then it wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Days Gone is expected to launch in 2019.
